Money Faith — Our new unifying religion

Money has long since ceased to be anything solid, We don’t use gold, silver, gems or any rare commodity that might have what we call “intrinsic value.” We have replaced “real money” with fiat money, which is money because a government claims it is money. And like the “real money” it can only be called currency if everyone accepts it as a reliable, stable store of value that others will take from you in exchange for goods and services.

If you take a complete poll of everyone on all ends of the political and religious spectrums, you will find that there about as many opinions as there are people. Faith in G-d, Moses, Jesus, Muhamid, Buddha etc. is strong in many places but not others. And then you have the problem of five religions each claiming to be the “true religion.”

In order for government fiat money to retain its status as currency, people must have full faith and confidence that the money remains a stable source of value that other people will take in exchange for goods and services. That requires faith, approval and acceptance of the government. Paradoxically faith in currency is backed by faith in government. Faith in government is now at an all time low, and money is being manipulated to retain power.

That faith in money is what has gotten us into so much trouble with no end in sight. Our faith in money transcends our religious beliefs and customs whether we admit it or not. Our faith in money has become so strong that we measure nearly everything in money. A good man will be presumed to be good if he has money. He receives no such presumption if he is penniless despite the life of a saint.

Pope Francis arrives in the U.S> with a simple message, not unlike the message of Golda Meir speaking about peace. She said war will stop when we value our grandchildren more than our grandparents. What she missed is that we value money more than either grandchildren or grandparents. We value money more than ourselves.

With a hat tip to Bernie Sanders, here is what the Pope has to say about our obsession with money:

“The current financial crisis… originated in a profound human crisis: the denial of the primacy of the human person! We have created new idols. The worship of the ancient golden calf has returned in a new and ruthless guise in the idolatry of money and the dictatorship of an impersonal economy lacking a truly human purpose.”

He also states: “There is a need for financial reform along ethical lines that would produce in its turn an economic reform to benefit everyone. Money has to serve, not to rule.”

As long as our primary faith and devotion is money, people will continue to lose their homes to thieves, courts will continue to reward thieves and the government will fail to punish thieves. If the time  comes that we return to regulating currency like a commodity that serves mankind (not rules it) most of the problems in the world will subside. We will take care of our planet, our poor, and disadvantaged; but most of all we will take care of each other. And money paradoxically linked to confidence and faith in government, will return to a stable medium of stored value and exchange.

    1 cup Tom Jefferson
    8 oz Ayn Rand

  2. here’s a quickie for IVENT as we head out to my wife’s 2nd annual memorial service…

    http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=2281&ChapterID=65

    read it…
    it’s all “May”
    not one “Must” or “Shall”
the “Musts” or “Shalls” only kick in after you execute your first “May” in the wrong direction giving them jurisdiction…

why would a man of g0d surrender his church (body/land/estate) unto Caesar when Caesar himself says if you waive or rescind my benefits you are free from my wrath?

e.g. you “May” jump off a cliff into a fiery pit if you feel that is in your best interest, or were advised to do so by an attorney…

otherwise… you may proceed without the State recognizing you and your church in private because really, we can’t see you anyway…

  3. Dear Sue & Neil

far be it from me to quiet anyone’s opinion…
there is a guest using the name “Ivent” which is causing great tumult and disharmony on the blog
she is causing people to leave the conversation through her relentless religious diatribes and seems to want to redirect our efforts away from the purpose of Neil’s website…

all that said… she has contributed a few useful bits…

however, her religious/alien/conspiracy rants are SO out there that the rest of the good ideas from the rest of the group have seemed to vacate…

is there any way to stop this?

    thank you
    greg

  4. THANK YOU NEIL – THESE WORDS ARE SO OBVIOUS YET FALL ON DEAF EARS EVERYWHERE….
THE LOSS OF LOVE OF PEOPLE AND GROWTH OF THE LOVE OF THINGS HAS DAMNED US ALL…

  5. … I am citing a piece from new york times re that gandhi ” quote” aparently its more like this-

“Sure enough, it turns out there is no reliable documentary evidence for the quotation. The closest verifiable remark we have from Gandhi is this: “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do.”

Here, Gandhi is telling us that personal and social transformation go hand in hand, but there is no suggestion in his words that personal transformation is enough. In fact, for Gandhi, the struggle to bring about a better world involved not only stringent self-denial and rigorous adherence to the philosophy of nonviolence; it also involved a steady awareness that one person, alone, can’t change anything, an awareness that unjust authority can be overturned only by great numbers of people working together with discipline and persistence”

Hence blogs such as this one., you tube and so forth word is spreading and truth can overcome lies But it takes perseverance persiatence and conviction. So e things ARE worth fighting for.

  6. kudos Lauren. We need the sheeple to wake up from the complacent slumber and their belief that its someone else’s job, starts with one – then another one then a million, starts with self, as mohatna Gandhi said ” BE THE CHANGE THat you want to see in the world.,

  8. Lauren Tratar what you cited
“President Kennedy stated the following in his inaugural address in 1961: “In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger… The same revolutionary beliefs for which our founding fathers fought are still at issue around the globe… That torch has now been passed to our generation. The trumpet summons us again to give testimony to (not only) our national loyalty… (But) to now defend the freedom of Man.”
    Gave me extreme goose bumps
    Because its the truth.

  9. …affords.

The “evil” is derived from the lust therefor.

(See? Even scripture hints at “derivatives “).

  10. It’s not money itself that is evil according to Christian scripture, but the lust for the “power” it’s accumulation in the hands of persons and groups of persons.

    1 Timothy 6 : 10

  11. Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible

For the love of money is the root of all evil,…. Of all the evils before mentioned, and of others; not money itself, as silver and gold, which are God’s creatures, and his gifts, and may be used to, and answer many good purposes; but the love of it, and not any love of it; for there may be a lawful love of it, and desire after it, so far as it is requisite to the necessaries of life, to answer the calls of Providence, the duties we owe to God and men, to serve the interest of Christ, and do good to fellow creatures and fellow Christians: but it is an immoderate insatiable desire after it, and an inordinate love of it, which is here meant, such as is properly idolatry: as when a man loves it, not only besides, but above God; serves it as if it was God, and places his trust and confidence in it, independent of God, and his providence; such love of it is the source and spring of all iniquity, as above; it was the sin of Judas, and the root of all his iniquity. The phrase is Jewish. So idolatry is said to be , “the root of all iniquities” (q); see Hebrews 12:15

    NEVER AGAIN

  13. BRAVO! money, or its lack thereof, is the underlying “cause” of the “effects” of crime, deception, dishonesty, manipulation, immorality, the “selling of souls” etc etc etc. However, it is only until we are faced with these TRUTHS that we begin to look deeper and ponder our responsibility to our beloved Earth, our fellow brothers around the world, and the critters that we share this planet with. So in many ways the crises we are now facing have a HIGHER PURPOSE for they are catalyzing a more profound understanding of who we are and opening our eyes to what is now happening. How long it goes on is up to us. How long will we allow the bully to beat people up? How far must “they” go until we stand up for what is right? For to allow the Powers that Be to continue to ravage our forests into desert, consume the soul of our land in mine pits and waste, smother our air and oceans, sterilize the Earth in radiation and poisons only has one outcome: it is the Path to the extinction of the human race and Earth, So perhaps the crises which are hitting us where is REALLY hurts, where we are directly and personally affected: our pocket books through Foreclosure, the stealing of pension funds, inflation, deflation etc. have a far more profound meaning. The question before us: how long will we let this go on before we have the courage to stand up for what is right? President Kennedy stated the following in his inaugural address in 1961: “In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger… The same revolutionary beliefs for which our founding fathers fought are still at issue around the globe… That torch has now been passed to our generation. The trumpet summons us again to give testimony to (not only) our national loyalty… (But) to now defend the freedom of Man.”

  14. A currency system, whether based on commodity (as an example: precious metal) or FIAT (given value simply because the government says it carries value), cannot retain the confidence of the market unless it operates under the RULE OF LAW.

A Corporatocracy now controls the international financial system.

The Rule of Law is also now controlled by the creatures of that Corporatocracy.

Even as the electoral process in this country is manipulated by the creatures of that Corporatocracy.

The US was created to defy “Tyranny”- the notion a minority elite may exclude others and their rights simply because those others are not as well connected.

Our present condition is antithetical to notion We The People will ever present ourselves as willing to endure “Tyranny”. It is contrary to why the colonies rebelled in the first place.

It is past time We The people exposed the central bankers- they are a FRAUD!!!

The solution is to reclaim their phony debt as dictated by their phony, “Federal Reserve Notes” and then re-release the “Greenback Dollars” currently in our nation’s Treasury.

The harvest of the phony money should go hand-in-hand with the release of the Greenbacks and a corresponding, international, currency re-set should be the goal.

Once the financial system is secured, then We start jailing the bankers.
